STUDIO

The studio was one of my goals, when we started the design with the Architect, my priorities were light, versatility, ventilation, practicality and at the same time to be minimalist, modern and fresh.

We also wanted the construction to be located in a way that allowed the use of light at different seasons of the year, not only to paint but  to be able to plant vegetables, fruit trees and palm trees that are my favorites, as well as cactus, since in a certain way they remind me of the southern coast of the country where I grew up, we placed volcanic stones around, since volcanoes have always been with me throughout my life; on the farm the Atitlán volcano and here in the city the Pacaya volcano that gives us beautiful views and can be seen almost daily, when it erupts giving a feeling of ancient history.

I love movement! So in the studio all the objects move. One of them is the wall, allowing me to make the space bigger in winter and be able to work comfortably, but also allowing me to create a small gallery or exhibition area. Secondly, there are the glass walls that can be fully opened hiding to one side, in summer it allows me to work on the porch and have fresh ventilation, transporting me to the farm with that refreshing breeze that the wind makes when blowing through the trees.
