Obsidian

From a very young age, when I lived on the farm, I liked to go on walks to collect lightning stones (Tijax). I read that throughout the centuries many cultures interpreted the finding of polished stones, "as objects of celestial origin", produced by rays falling to Earth.

"That mystery made me fell in love"

Since then, I have loved the days of stormy rain, their sound, and their vibrant light. They relaxed me and also made me think with illusion that the next day I will go to collect them!

That is why when I decided to use a black color in my artwork I wanted it to be like obsidian, a color that resembles the lightning stone, which for years I collected with such enthusiasm. I wanted to create a color that would be the symbol of flint, that energy that cures, that heals and has that protective power of the Tijax.

And by seeing it would provide a deep healing of the soul!

Obsidian - is a volcanic stone, which has the quality of changing its color according to the way it is cut. If it is cut parallel, its color is black, but when cut perpendicularly, its color is gray.

Obsidiana

Desde muy pequeña, cuando vivía en la finca, me gustaba realizar caminatas para recolectar piedras rayos (Tijax). Leí que a lo largo de los siglos muchas culturas interpretaron el hallazgo de piedras pulimentadas, “como objetos de origen celeste”, producidas por rayos al caer a la Tierra.

"Me enamoré de ese misterio"

Desde entonces amé los días de lluvia con tempestad. Su sonido y su luz vibrante, ¡me relajaban y además me hacían pensar con ilusión que al día siguiente iría a recolectar!

Por eso cuando decidí utilizar un color negro en mis obras, quería que fuera como la obsidiana, un color que se pareciera a la piedra rayo, que por años recolecté con tanta ilusión. Quería crear un color que fuera el símbolo del pedernal, esa energía que cura, que sana y tiene ese poder de protección del Tijax.

¡Y que al verlo transmitiera una profunda curación del alma!

Obsidiana: es una piedra volcánica, que tiene la cualidad de cambiar su color según la forma en que se corta. Si se corta en paralelo, su color es negro, pero cuando se corta perpendicularmente, su color es gris. "Se considera una de las gemas más poderosas de todos los cristales"
